Clean Up On Aisle Scream! is made by DUDE & DADDY LLC, a father-and-son game studio. This page covers the game at cleanuponaislescream.com (and its itch.io page). The short version: we keep a nickname and your scores, and that is about all.
What we keep
- Your nickname, which you pick. Please do not use your real name. Rude or look-alike names are turned away.
- Your scores and progress that show on the boards: best weeks, runs, badges, and your look (apron colour, tag, mop).
- A random player key your device makes by itself, kept on your device. It lets your scores stay yours. We store only a scrambled version of it, never the key itself.
- Stores you share, if you choose to share one (its design and your nickname).
- Reports. If someone reports a name or a score, the report goes to the owner so they can take a look.
- Crash counts. If the game crashes, we count it with the game version, the screen and the first line of the error. No names or IDs.
What we do not ask for
No emails, real names, ages, phone numbers, photos, or locations. There are no accounts or passwords, no ads, and no advertising or analytics trackers. Chat is only four quick shouts in co-op (like “Help!” and “Nice!”). There is no free-typed chat.
Things that happen behind the scenes
- Network address. To stop floods of fake players, and to keep a hidden player from coming straight back, the game looks at the network a player connects from. We keep only a one-way scrambled version, never the address itself, and clear the counters within hours to a day.
- Live co-op. While a co-op game runs, the players’ moves pass between their screens through our server. They are not saved afterwards.
- On your device. The game saves your settings, saves and progress in your browser’s storage, and can install as an app with a small helper file (a service worker) so solo play works offline. You can clear all of it in your browser settings.
- Hosting. The game runs on Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare handles technical details such as IP addresses to deliver the page and protect it, under its own privacy policy.
The family site
A separate family area is for invited relatives. Cloudflare checks the person’s email address to let them in. We never show an email, and we keep only a one-way scrambled ID made from it.
Children
The game is made for ages 11 and up, and it is made together by a parent and a young co-founder. We do not ask for anyone’s name, email, age, or any other personal details. What we keep is only a nickname, your scores, and a random player key (see above). Please do not use a real name as a nickname, and parents, please help younger players pick one. If you are a parent and want your child’s nickname and scores removed, write to us and we will delete them.
Seeing it, or deleting it
Write to robewise@gmail.com and tell us your nickname. We can remove your scores and nickname from the boards. A shared store can be removed the same way.
Changes
If this changes, for example if the game adds accounts or sign-ups, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
